Service Technician
Responsibilities
Includes everything from basic service and maintenance to installations and mounting of units, wiring and troubleshooting on vehicles and all sorts of machines plus giving support and assistance to customers. Must be London based person, Travel and work within London is obligatory and will be included in the work while we perform some repairs and service at customer locations.
Required skills:
You have:
Good knowledge of troubleshooting.
Knowledge in electricity, electronics and hydraulics is an advantage.
Computer skills.
B license, if you also have D and/or C license is meritorious.
Fluently speaking English is obligatory.
Other European languages such as Swedish, German etc. in speech and writing is an advantage but not a must criteria.
We also want that you to like challenges, be independent and focused on the customer. You strive to exceed customer expectations. You should also have a good sense of order and interest in further training.
Your duties
As Service technician at Thoreb the work includes assemble our products such as LCD screens for infotainment, on board computers, touchscreens, mounting kits, wiring and connect to electrical board of the vehicle and in general installation of Software and hardware in vessels, bus or other type of vehicle for public transport. You will have to take notes and claims from the customer and be able to follow up and give support. In Thoreb´s production factory in Sweden our units are assembled, tested and painted and then sent out to the customer location or to Thoreb´s subsidiaries and in next step your duty is to install/mount this equipment in the customers vehicles. You are responsible for the quality and maintenance within your own work area. A key to Thoreb's success is that all employees help each other to improve the working methods continuously.
Your background:
You have previous experience of assembly or service, repair and maintenance, an advantage is if you have this in the automotive industry. You like to work under instructions and at a high tempo.

The work requires you to be responsible and you find it easy to take initiative. Easy to learn and structured are other qualities that we value very high.
As a technician you will work with equipping, making service and repair on vessels and buses, trams and other vehicles related to the public transport. A large part of the work is about to equip the products we sell with accessories that the customer wants, but there will also be a lot of repairs and maintenance of both newer and older systems and vehicles.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about fitting equipment in vehicles, and solve problems on-site and you must be able to read technical drawings, clutch -and electrical diagrams. You appreciate the challenges and perform your work structured with high demands on quality. A driving license (B) is a requirement. The work is based mostly on convenient hours for the public transport which means mostly at evenings, weekends and night time as we need access to the vehicles when they are standing still at depots. Daytime work is also existing but mostly under warranty and urgent claims situations.
Typical clients: Vehicle Manufacturers, Bus operators and Traffic authorities such as Thames Clippers, Arriva, Transport of London, Mercedes, Scania, Alexander Dennis, Wright Bus etc…
